Apply now: European Youth Capital 2025

January 26, 2022

Does your city have innovative ideas, projects and activities that contribute to the inclusion of young people in city life?

Applications to be the European Youth Capital in 2025 are now being accepted. Apply now!

The title of European Youth Capital is awarded by the European Youth Forum each year to a city that empowers young people and encourages active youth participation and European identity. Winners of this title get to showcase their city’s innovative ideas, projects and activities that bring youth perspectives and voices to city life.

European Youth Capital title aims to encourage equal opportunity for young people in shaping the social, economic and political life in their communities.

Support of youth organisations and applications

Applications must be submitted together with a local youth organisation and should describe your past work in the youth field, your motivation and plans you have for the year. So work alongside your local youth organisation(s) and think creatively and ambitiously about what you want to achieve from the process and how youth voices and engagement can be empowered.

The competition is open to any Local Authority (municipality or group of municipalities within a common geographic area) from Member States of the Council of Europe.

The deadline to apply is 21st February 2022 and the final winner is announced in November.

While there is no direct funding provided, the European Youth Capital title is recognised and endorsed by several European institutions. The title gives a framework for funding applications through other EU programmes, such as Erasmus+ and Cohesion funds.

Deadline to apply: 21 February 2022
